Q. What is the Mission of Turkey Day 5K
A. Empowering community involvement through exercise!
Q. Is the race hard?
A. No, just come on out and have a great time! The race will be timed but there is no pressure.
Q. Do I have to run, or can I walk?
A. Walk, crawl, skip, run or roll, whatever helps you cross the finish line!
Q. Can I take pictures?
A. Of course! At the end of the 5K we’ll also have a photo wall where you can have your photo taken with your finishing time.
Q. What about the weather?
A. Due to the unpredictability of Oklahoma weather, Turkey Day 5k Run will go on despite rain, sleet, ice, snow or shine!
Q. Do you have a refund policy?
A. Our refund policy is no refunds.
Q. Can I wear a costume?
A. Encouraged. In fact, we will be continuing to have a costume contest as well!
Q. What time do the 1mile and the 5K run start?
A. 5K at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run starts at 9:30 a.m.
Q. How do I volunteer?

Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. Bring all of them (as long as they are on a leash) and they can wear costumes too.
Q. Are there age limits?
A. No, everyone is welcome.
Q. Are strollers allowed?
A. Absolutely for children or adults. We ask that people with strollers line up towards the back of the start line.
Q. Do I get a t-shirt?
A. We try to provide a shirt for everyone, there may be some instances where limited sizes will be available. To maximize our donation a set number of shirts are ordered prior to packet pick-up and unfortunately, we are unable to predict the exact sizes and number of runners will have each year.
Q. Do I get a medal?
A. Due to larger than projected participation medals will be handed out to the first 650 finishers. If your medal is not important as a keep sake, you can decline your medal so another person can accept one. We are sorry our ordering contraints left us with a limited supply.
Q. Are there any group awards?
A. No, there are not, but the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers will get prizes.
Q. Who do the proceeds from the run benefit?
A. We are excited to announce our 2023 beneficiary as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Norman!
Q. Can I register on the day of the race?
A. Absolutely, registration will end though at 8:25am for both the 5K and 1 mile fun run on the day of the race. We advise that you register on your own device, even the day of the race.

Q. Can I pick up my packet on Race Day?
A. Sure can, but we suggest you come early just in case there’s a line
Q. Where does the race start?
A. 5K will start on Pickard Avenue, East of Norman High Football Stadium. 1 mile will start on the track and field of the Norman High School football stadium.
Q. Where can I park?
A. Parking will be available at Norman High School Parking Lot and also the surrounding business parking lots on the south side of Main street across from Norman High School Or the lots located on the West side of Norman High School. Parking will fill up quickly, please plan to arrive by 8:00 AM.
Q. What time should I get there on Race Day?
A. If you still need to pick up your packet on race day we would suggest getting there early, as registration will open at 7am. If you already picked up your packet (which we highly recommend), then as long as you are near the start line at 8:30 am you are good to go.
